Dear all, Late last year there was a post from Peter Rookas asking about the above instrument from their collection which is the same as the one in the Powerhouse collection and which can be seen at the link below. http://www.powerhousemuseum.com/collection/database/?irn=78356 Further information about the circumstances of its use has been found and I wondered if that may strike a cord with anybody!! The only mark on the item is the word Patent which suggests to me that it probably does not appear in a catalogue. Patrick writes... "The patient in the 1930s suffered atraumatic skull fracture and was admitted to our hospital with an earfull of blood. He went home a week later and was given the earoscope presumably to suck any remaining discharge. I am intreagued about the little patent needle which moves up and down as the handle is turned. How does it all work? The top part is now firmly stuck on ? rusted." Any help would be appreciated and Patrick may be contaced on ppopolemurray at gmail.com or simply hit the reply to all button.
